Today, I can still remember the poor woman in her 9th month of pregnancy, working the fields right up until the moment of birth, where she would return to the house, do it as quickly and efficiently as possible, alone, not making any noise, and being so private about it, she wouldn't even admit what she was doing to her husband. Whoa. I also read Anna Karenina a while ago, and yes, you're in for more of what you're already hinting on... I’m not in a book club or anything, and I don’t follow the whole Oprah thing, but I am reading as many great books as I can, and last year The Good Earth was one of them.
