Lots of stuff crumples up when you knit it. Then after you are done, it will lay down and behave itself.

Man! Am I late to the party or what? So… did you try blocking it? I’ve got nothing to be desired, since i have NO experience with intarsia, but i think it looks terrific…and that ironing would work just fine.

I ditto what Cathi said, absence making the heart grow fonder and so on.

I think once you block it, the intarsia lettering will look great. Don’t stress yourself. Just finish it and see what it looks like after blocking.

I have to echo what others have said- you will be stunned at what blocking will do for it. And you can always rip it out, just pinning the intarsia part and spray blocking. Give it a whirl, my Bookish Girl.

Believe me, my dear, you leave nothing to be desired…unless it is by your leaving that you become more desired. Absence, heart fonder and all.

Intarsia letters that are longish and skinny-ish are hard to execute cleanly. If it were me, I’d probably duplicate stitch the lettering onto the shirt rather than try to knit it on.

Just sayin’. Feel free to ignore this.

Ha! Jackie posted exactly what I was going to write in between reading the comments and the separate window opening for me to post –

When I made my first intarsia, I really hated it, but blocking does wonders.

Don’t rip it out or do something silly like that!
