I'm also a "pick up stitches as you go" kinda gal. Gets you in trouble but gets you out of it more often than trying to make it fit. Sometimes I wonder how they get the no of sts they publish... You always knit the 1st two stitches... then on the on the way back, you bring the yarn forward two stitches BEFORE the end and slip the last two. When you knit those two at the beginning of the next row, it rolls/binds - turns the edge into I-cord. I'll post pictures of that part soon. I had to do SOMETHING to offset the pain of not getting to go to NYC with y'all.) and would bet that we will find some of this on the cheaps while there.
