The Bookish Girl

Dorks Anon

I have to agree – Chad is the bigger dork and me!  Juli, my best friend and Chad’s wife, was the picture taker.  And, if I know Juli, she had some input to these as well.  Apparently they made a video of Trudy in the centrifuge.  Alas, the video has since been lost so we shall all have to imagine the sight.

I have found some Kidsilk Haze to finish Pinky Pinkers.  My girl Kellee has dug some out of her stash and, despite our close geographic proximity,  is mailing 2 balls my way.  No idea what I’ll do with two balls but who am I to deny a mohair hater?  Speaking of Kellee, have you all had a look-see at the insanity that is the inner workings of her psyche?  You must see how she has taken Sudoku and Afghan knitting to a whole new level.

In other news…

- I have two back issues of IK that I need to unload.  I have double copies for some reason.  They are:  Spring 2005 and Spring 2006.   Anybody want them?  First come, first served.  I promise it won’t take me eight years to mail it to you.

- I had to buy new bras – again.

- We have officially entered the third trimester.  I am at 29 weeks.  Only four months to go.  Little known fact about pregnancy – you are actually pregnant for 10 months.  40 weeks.  10 months.  Don’t let anyone tell you differently.  They lie to get you knocked up.

- Did you know that the baby currently pees inside of me?  There are no words.

- Non-pregnancy news?  There is none.  This is what I do now – be pregnant, visit heart doctors, and clean my house.  It’s really been a slooooowww fall/winter around here.  Haven’t decided how I feel about this yet.

I have ended up with two of the same magazine several times…I have no idea how I do it! Excuse my pregnancy ignorance here, but if you are 29 weeks, then you have 11 left. Isn’t that closer to 3 months? I’m just trying to make it sound shorter for you. You look great!

i’m sure men came up with the 9 month thing, but they’re not the ones carrying, are they? Trudy looks like she’s being well cared for, and is loving her new home.

You look great! I’m a bit behind you… 24 weeks and counting. I do think you have only 11 weeks left. It’s true!

Also… maybe it’s just me, but when I go to your main page, I just get a bunch of php warnings. I have to click on the individual entry title to see the actual entry. Is it just me? Have I lost it once and for all?!

    Happy third trimester. :D

… but… then when I click on the ‘home’ button, I get your front page the way it should look. When I’m coming from Google Reader, I get php warnings. Maybe it’s GR’s glitch, not yours. Never mind!

Bookish though you may be, at a certain point you may just want to stop reading the preggers books. I think the closer I got to delivery day the less I wanted to read about what the baby was doing or going to do…sometimes ignorance is truly bliss!

    Try to rest!

  26. Bonny says:

Not only is the baby peeing, but also swallowing…
Early in the second trimester, your baby starts to swallow the fluid, pass it through his/her kidneys, and excrete it as urine, which he then swallows again, recycling the full volume of amniotic fluid every few hours. Don’t think about it too much; it’s just the beginning of the dealing with bodily fluids part of motherhood.
