Love the gnooks thing! Thanks for that… the library of congress has an interesting blog that does a ‘today in history’ article I really love, just random interesting stuff.

I’m pretty sure you’ve mentioned librarything before, but have you played with the Unsuggester?

it’s a little like the gnooks thing, on its head. I got some really weird results, somewhat like the amazon ‘people who bought this book also bought’ thing. Those can be completely random, in fact the last couple things I bought ( fiction and dvds ) came up with ‘people who bought * also bought turbo tax’. So there’s always that unrelated stuff thrown in, still fun to play with…

my mom used to have this protein shake mix that i would dip into with apples. never did the ice tea thinkg but feeling like i missed out.

I dippied lemon wedges in the ice tea mix and then licked the mix of the lemons. Oh, memories. Thank you for the links, all very useful and appropriately time filling. I did an intership and at a National Archives Branch, there are some of the most intersting things in those archives. And I will make sure to try not to ride with Hitler.

Riding With Hitler, huh? Perhaps this approach could help lower fuel consumption here (“When you drive your grossly oversized SUV all alone, not only are you addicted to oil, you’re also riding with The Angry-Jihadists-Who-Want-To-Kill-Us-For-Our-Freedoms…” or some such.)(Um. Hope I’m not being too political… I guess I’ve just been surprised lately that we’re At War, but there’s no War Effort like back in the WWII days.)

Wow–maybe those posters are what we need today to get people to carpool! Hmmm. That might make less sense now than during the 1940′s. What about trading Hitler for Osama? (My special field in college was Nazi propaganda, and I did my senior thesis on Nazi era German literature. This has totally captured my imagination.)
