Hey, why has no one told us about the mirrored cabinet on bathroom privacy partition? Obviously someone wanted a view of their privates, because standing naked and brushing one’s teeth and looking in the large mirror – a little more to the left, that’s right, “Is that a mole or frosting that dropped of a piece of cake?”

And yet, the place is full of PO-TEN-TIAL! Great news; great pictures.

Wow, a beautiful bookish house! I am FLOORED by the pink and black bathroom.

Some virtuous woman kept that thing pristine for 50 years and now you get to have it!

Congrats and good luck with the carpet-pulling etc.

My parents’ first house had a pink and black bathroom. Being three years old, I loved it. I *still* love it! So much better than yucky rental grey vinyl tile. Congrats on the house!

Congratulations!!! Looks like a ton of potential there, underneath the carpeting and wallpaper. You’re lucky to be in a position to do all that work before you move in. We couldn’t, and now we’re living with some wallpaper that has to be seen to be believed.

I really like the pink and black bathroom.

Congrats! As one who has walked into a house and seen past the owners decorating style, you have quite a road ahead of you but it is so worth it. Our bathroom has all pink fixtures (tub, toilet, and sink) not because we wanted it but because it came that way. A deep, dark chocolate brown looks amazing with it. Have fun and good luck!

I love love love that bathroom. People and their boring, bland, beige style just depresses me. Our bathroom (vintage 1969) has aqua tile, and I love it.

Congratulations to the family and good luck with the wallpaper!

It is such a treasure to find a house that has not been *improved*. Yay for you guys! That house will be Home to your family.

I have always loved that song, too :) and sang it to myself as I read your post. But the second line is “…very, very, VERY fine house.” Three “very”s and “fine.” And “…the windows are illuminated by the EVENING sunshine through them…” And for those tiny and excessively anal corrections may I please have a virtual hug from Sophie?
