The Bookish Girl

Sadness

I have long adored Tim Russert and valued his even handed approach to life, politics, and journalism.  He was someone to admire and respect.

I am so sad that we have lost him.

He went down the same way my dad did – heart attack, no warning, too young. That phone call was the hardest kick in the gut I’ve ever gotten. I admired Tim Russert, but right now, I have such empathy for his wife and son.

The Sunday Morning News Shows had become ritual in our home. Sunday’s will never be the same.

All I kept thinking about was his poor father.
