First, I'm delurking to say I've really been enjoying your daily posts. Reading this post has been a comfort to me and I wanted to thank you. I've been sweating the weaning and the walking, and seeing that my Em is on a similar schedule to Sophia helped a great deal. Isn't mama worrying fun?

Those milestones sneak up on you! For me, having my daughter move out of her crib was huge. I loved the look of it, the coziness of it. If she hadn't started climbing out I probably would have kept it even longer. She, of course, was thrilled beyond words with a big bed, but I still (4 years later) get a little nostalgic when I run across the crib linens.

I love, LOVE Sophia's red hat (and am very jealous that she will allow you to keep hats on her head, something that June does not tolerate).

Also, previously I thought that giving birth was the most difficult thing I've ever done, but lately I've come to realize that being a working mother is 100x harder. My baby is disappearing before my eyes, and I'll never get that time back. Thanks a lot, bills.

My dad and I were playing in my grandma's pool one summer evening when I was very little and when he tossed me into the pool, I hit my head on the side of the concrete.

We went to the ER just to make sure I was alright (and I was, although I suppose there are those who would argue) and what I remember most about that experience is how horribly upset my dad was. I was fine, but he was almost inconsolable. Do you know what I knew *then* and STILL know *now*?

That my father loved me, and that he would never, ever hurt me on purpose.

I am certain that the same is true for S.

You have long days, don't you? I remember those times well and I have to say that the rules and challenges change but the love stays the same. That last picture is priceless.

What a sweet and honest post. I love hearing about people's "real lives", both the struggles and the joys.
