I just got out of the shower.  11:49pm.  I’m about to miss the daily post.   Why am I so late tonight?

Baby did not sleep last night.  Screaming, crying, throwing her body across the room.  The morning came with me in her crib with her.  Ever done that?  Desperation I tell you, I had tried everything else.  Including carrying her (she did not want to be in the stroller) around our block about 3 times.

In anycase - I was beat today and we had a full plate of household crap to accomplish.  We did and it wasn’t such a bad day.  The evening ended with fresh local strawberries and homemade vanilla ice cream.  Yum.

We got baby to sleep and I snuck into my car to renedevous with…

…. a bottle return machine.

$44.45 in bottles dropped off at a local grocery store.

That, my friends, is what I call an ass-load of bottles.

Don’t fret.  You too can have a Saturday night just like me.  It is a reachable goal.  Truly - you. can. do. it.

  1. I dunno. Some days I think they really knew things in the olden days. They’d have given baby a few drops of brandy or something. If I were a new mom NOW, I think I’d try that. I never dared do such a thing when I REALLY was a new mom.

Now who’s going to hell? ;-)

  2. Wendy! I hope you and the little one get a nice long nap today. Believe me, I have been there many times.

Once Maeve wouldn’t sleep at all, so I decided to drive around with her at 2 or 3 in the morning. Of course, I got pulled over because a headlight was out. I had quite a rant ready for the cop when I opened my window, but I guess the look on my face was enough…he let me go home.

In NY, isn’t bottle return 5 cents? That is LOTS of returnables, wow!

  3. BTDT, wearing the t-shirt.

B and the littlest boy handle going to the “bottles and cans store” in our family. After their run yesterday, the child came home with a new book AND Skittles. He has his father wrapped.

  4. Well I think I know why you nearly didn’t post today! Holy tired Mama.

We did a bottle drive at work and I am so sick of visting the bottle depot. We have 2 more garbage bags to go actually…riding in the Van with me back and forth each day.

    Maybe this week.

  5. My hubby and I just did the can thing. Two huge garbage bags and about a mile walk (we are happily car free). Our take was just over $10, but it was definitely worth it to get them out of the house and to make the groceries a bit cheaper.
