One of my favorite things about living in NYC is all the food options and hearing about how I absolutely must check out some new cream puff place or whathaveyou. My only suggestion for surviving without a decent Indian restaurant is to learn to cook it at home. The book I use is called New Indian Home Cooking. It's also my survival tip for living someplace where eating out is so expensive. Sounds like a great trip.
