The Napping House

by ,

Sam is “napping” in Mama’s bed. This boy is a sleeper. It’s a totally different world when you have a sleeper. He’s totally opposite from his sister (who still doesn’t need to sleep!)

If you have been blessed with a sleeper then you should consider yourself very lucky because I can vouch for him/her being awesome and healthy in the upcoming years. But incase you have an owl in your house, and by owl I mean a child who doesn’t sleep now the actual animal, then you better get ready because you have some work cut out for you.

Did you see the blue blankie that he has over him? Well, I made it. Yes! I know.. even I cant believe it. It looks so good and so comfy. He just doesn’t sleep without it and I fell very appreciated for it.

Now let’s come down to the question.. HOW? Well, it takes patience and a bit of skill to make that good a blankie. My mother used to knit a lot and I do remember her doing that most of the time, I kind of picked it up from her, and before I knew it.. It was one of my favourite hobbies.

When Sam was in my tummy, I had so much time on my hands that I came back to it and knew that a blanket would be the best, because a pair of socks or anything else would just grow short and not be used after a while. So the blackie project started and even after he was out learning to crawl, my project was going on.

1 year and 3 months later.. it happened. I finally finished the blankie and gifted it to him. If you have been following my blog for some time then you must know how much he loves it, also proven in the picture above.

To make a blanket is not tough, it just takes a patience and vision. I bought the best canister vacuum 2016 reviews and got it started just another day like today. Slow and steady, the blankie began.. over the period of 2 years.. it grew and then just became the beloved blankie.

You can also start a cleaning project on your own, all that takes is a great machine (like the ones mentioned in the article above) and some willingness to learn. You can even find great tutorials on the same on youtube and begin from there.

I don’t think it matters where you start from, it’s like life. You start from nothing and slowly and steadily.. you make it into something that you are known for and recognised by. If you are lucky, you might even be appreciated for it in means other than money.. like fondness and the special kindness. For now, he sleeps and I think I wrote too much today, so I’m going to go get some sleep. Ciao! to y’all.

A thank you

Tonight I played a game of Goldfish with my daughter. The inaugural game that will, I hope, lead to many more.

The cards were included within a package sent by a friend. Someone who was originally found and snatched into my life because of this blog. It is still crazy to me how much these far off people have become ingrained in my daily life and sense of self. And now they have a roll in my kids’ lives too. So cool.

Thank you Kristen!

Thank you

Now, lets get down to topic of the day- Cooking.

Cooking is not only a necessity but also an art. Once you start cooking then you learn to do things in the exact manner that they are supposed to be done. Cooking teaches us about the quantity and quality ratio that is more than capable of making you feel both happy and sick. The dish prepared with the right proportions can leave you wanting for more but even if one thing goes wrong, you could end up wasting food or even worse.. puking! So cooking food is indeed an art.

May it be cooking, barbeque-ing, grilling, smoking or anything else that makes yum-yum food, it all requires a lot of patience and understanding to do the job. Being parents we are supposed to be cooking for kids, irrespective of our genders, which is why I am learning a bit about recipes and what not. I have bought a couple best selling recipe books to help me along the way and guide me to be the best mommy ever.

Food is something that not only affects health but also, eating habits and routine, which is why I always prefer using the best of the best in my kitchen, may it be something as small as a mixer, or as big like the refrigerator. Recently, I bought an electric smoker for my husband’s weekend duties. Regardless to say, we chose the best electric smoker on the market, which was a Masterbuilt one.

Similarly, I gifted myself with an electric pressure cooker, I was willing to go with the cuisinart one, but this article on best pressure cookers convinced me otherwise and so I went with the Instant Pot IPDUO60 which has been a wonderful one-touch pressure cooker since its arrival.

What I also like other than the electric part in the above appliances is the fact that are one-touch and do not need constant checking while ensuring that they are both safe and easy-to-use. Just a couple minutes with the quick help guide in the hand, and you’re a near-expert in the usage of the appliance. What might surprise you is that the Instant Pot can be multi-purpose and can do various functions like Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Saute/Browning, Yogurt Maker, Steamer & Warmer, as listed on Amazon.

If you have any such helpful advice in mind, don’t keep it to yourself, help everyone around you, but more importantly send me a shout out on the contact page, so I can feature it here. 🙂

Hope you have a good one.
